The Reality about Teenage Abortion
Nowadays, teenagers have a higher probability of making an impulsive judgment when confronted with problems of early pregnancy. It is a shameful and a scary thing to deal with. Eventually, teens attempt to hide it from anybody, most especially from their parents, by drastically opting for an abortion without considering future consequences.
There are a lot of studies conducted about behaviors and psychological effects of teenage abortion for the reason that it has been increasing as generation progresses. It was found out that teenage abortion does not only affect the pregnant teen for the time being, but usually over her lifetime as the outcome of it becomes permanent. Teens, typically, have immature strategies in coping up with the situation. They cannot easily recover and consequently end up acting out in denial when dealing with other people. This behavior will greatly influence their way of living and dealings with different people. Others survive the dilemma and end up successful but some stays in the nightmare of their past and become less productive.
This brings us to a common question, “What should I do?”. Teen abortion is a complicated situation as one has to truthfully confront her parents. It may become a lighter burden if her partner will always be there to support her, but generally, teen moms-to-be are left out all alone by their partners due to cowardice. This adds up to the depression that teens feel when faced up to this problem. In view of this, teenagers are definitely encouraged to engage their parents in every decision-making, whether it is about having an abortion or other better options available. It might not be as simple as ABC but a courageous try is worth everything. This might not be very well practiced in other cultures but when one is on that bridge, this is the best way to deal with the problem. Parental support is vital in every aspect of a teenager’s life most importantly in cases such as this. So before something results into a haste undoing a mistake, both sides should communicate.
Teenage abortion should not limit a person to keeping her own perspective. This is a critical phase in life and one always has a choice, may it be to do parenting, to abort, or to have the baby adopted at once. If they will opt for an abortion, advantages and disadvantages have to be carefully considered as well as its underlying complications.
